A dilettante’s delight, Design Observer showcases award-winning writers tracking their pet obsessions and observations through the tangle of cyberspace. A little goes a long way here, as a few well-turned mini-essays lead your mind from a meditation on typography to an appraisal of outsider artist Adolf Wölfli, followed by an eight-minute animated history of the Internet, complete with an English voiceover. There’s just days and days of good hunting to be had here. Design Observer promises to kick it up a notch this summer with a new content thread called Change Observer, which will “report on developments in the burgeoning area of design and social change, covering successes and failures, new models, and places for engagement by NGOs and design firms.” Observe the Observer and watch the world change in style.
