Tired of Twitter evolving too slowly and not adding new features? Well, do it yourself. With Greasemonkey, you can change the way your Twitter homepage works to better suit your needs and desires. Greasemonkey is a Firefox add-on that enables you to customize the look and function of webpages; Mashable has done all the hard work for you and compiled a great list of scripts for Greasemonkey that will vastly improve your Twitter experience. For example, Intercepter 1.2 will replace all TinyURLs with their actual URLs, so you will know what kind of site you are going to before clicking a link. Twitter Friend Name Helper does just that — as you’re typing @replies or DMs into the update box, it’ll suggest users based on the letters you enter, so you don’t have to try to enter everyone’s usernames from memory. Of course, you have to download Greasemonkey first, and then download the scripts you want, but after all the work (it’s not that bad, really), it’s completely worth it.
