Britain is in the midst of a war: Channel 4 is on one side and BBC is on the other. In the face of the former’s celebrity chef signings, BBC has striven to improve its food programming, and the effort is reflected on their website. The site has features on seasonal foods and events, such as ideal spring dishes or how to show national pride through patriotic meals (I was made to feel guilty for going for Thai on St. George’s Day). Plenty of recipes and biographies abound from the BBC’s leading chefs. This is one of the most comprehensive food sites I have come across. It seems to have something to appeal to everyone, from the casual chef to the seafood connoisseur. So please, let’s have peace — after all, food is a truly global language.
