Having recently discovered satellite radio, I have been deeply enamored with the concept of commercial-free radio. Unfortunately, a lot of what is played on my satellite radio is either repetitive or not at all my cup of tea, music-wise. Pandora works on a similar commercial-free concept, but allows you to build your own tastes by picking music that’s similar to the tunes and artists you love. You pick Bob Dylan’s “Forever Young,” for instance, and then you’ve got a radio station that’s based just on that song; Pandora uses this information to suggest new songs on the station. You like Kanye West? Then you can have a Kanye West station. And on and on. What’s more, you can ban songs you don’t like from your stations, and it’s all free, making it a miraculous wonderland of music.
