MTV may stand for “music television,” but any fan of the network knows better. You’ll find lots at MTV—and at MTV’s online counterpart—beyond vids. Case in point: MTV’s got plenty of bonafide TV shows, from “Bromance” to “Detox” to “Real World.” Just consider the weirdness of “Parental Control,” where parents set their kids up on blind dates in the hopes of having their childen dump their current (that is, undesirable, from the parental perspective) flames. As MTV notes: “And if this isn’t hard enough for the current flame to deal with, they’ll be watching every moment of these sexy and outrageous dates with the very parents who want them gone.” Very strange, and very MTV. Political action, documentaries, animated shorts—MTV is an entertainment playground. There’s tunes here, too. Bands, music, news, videos—you’ll find it all here, from the latest on everyone from Bjork to R. Kelly and beyond. Mucho music—and more.
