Wink is a continually growing and evolving photography portfolio for the artist Tyler E. Nixon. Nixon’s site feels like your own private gallery. Images are compiled in slideshow format, but you choose when to move on or go back for another look, allowing you to view Nixon’s stunning, multi-layered work at your own pace. The site is punctuated with user-generated commentary (aka “winks”) and a sizable photo archive. Nixon’s intimate photographs range from studies of the human form to tiny figures trotting along the beach, or a lone bird flying above a ghostly, foggy pier. The images were taken digitally, unless otherwise stated. There is no doubt that Nixon’s work has a cinematic quality, courtesy of multi-use lenses and an eye for subjectivity and light.
