This tip applies to real life just as much as to digital life: Talk too much and people will get annoyed. On Twitter, if you don’t space out your tweets enough, people likely will be turned off. It’s tricky because while many people complain about twitterers who tweet too much or too often, just as many people break the unsaid rule and tweet however they want. Hard-and-fast rules in regard to how often you should update are useless, but a good guideline is that if you appear on your Twitter homepage more than anyone else, you’re probably updating too frequently. A good way to avoid updating too much is to log onto Twitter more often. It sounds counterintuitive, but think about it: If you sign on more often, your tweets will be spread throughout the day instead of being grouped together in one giant mass during a short span of time.
