Meaning: A running list of tweets, starting with the most recent. Also called a “stream” or “feed.” Use: “You can see my whole timeline if you click on my profile.” Just like a blog, Twitter displays a comprehensive list of all posts in descending order from newest to oldest. Whenever you or anyone else posts a new tweet, Twitter puts it at the top of your timeline. There are two main timelines on Twitter: The timeline on your Twitter homepage displays the most recent tweets from the people you follow, with the most recent tweet at the very top. The timeline on your profile is where people go if they want to see everything you’ve had to say because it displays only your tweets.
