This blog is run by a pastry chef named Aran, a Basque ex-pat now living in the U.S. Aran’s posts usually consist of a recipe for a delectable pastry and a great photo of the end result. He creates a mouthwatering array of food that has a light, airy, and distinctively European feel. Although some recipes seem daunting (Meyer lemon soufflé, chocolate millefeuille), Aran’s directions are very straightforward, and she makes sure to warn you if things might go awry. There’s also a recipe index, so you can get straight to the good stuff. Aran’s passion for baking and for life (there are a number of photos and stories about her adorable toddler) are readily evident in this delicious blog.
