Recipe websites are an increasingly ubiquitous presence on the internet, but Cookstr has set out to differentiate itself from the pack as your go-to recipe database. By incorporating recipes created by professional chefs — from classics like Julia Child to newer culinary sensations like Rocco DiSpirito — the Cookstr recipe database means you’ll never have to rifle through pages and pages of cookbooks to find the right recipe. You can judge the feasibility of any chef’s recipes before starting to cook by simply looking at the recipe’s skill level, from easy (Jamie Oliver’s banana pancakes) to challenging (Eric Ripert’s Chocolate Pot de Creme). Cookstr is currently in beta form; the full version will also include tips and techniques — as well as menu suggestions — to help you pull off a restaurant-quality meal. Finally, if you’d rather have your meal made for you, the feature page on each chef includes information on all their restaurants, which is handy for those of us feeling particularly kitchen-phobic.
