You’ve probably heard of Google Goggles, the innovative service that allows users to perform a variety of web searches and other mobile tasks through the lens of a cell phone camera. Simply take a picture of a Pepsi can and Goggles will initiate a google search for you. Or scan a line of text in Spanish and translate it into English.
But now puzzle-lovers can add an exciting new feature to Google Goggles’ lineup. The next time you’re stumped on a particularly difficult sudoku puzzle, try pulling your phone out of your pocket and letting it do all the work for you.
The latest version of Google’s picture-based search engine (available for iPhone and Android) provides users with solutions to sudoku puzzles that they’ve snapped with their cameras via the Goggles app, as demonstrated in this video:
